Dr. Wilkerson Compere, MD

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP)

Dr. Compere is a board certified in internal medicine. Currently he is working as an Internist at Penn Highlands healthcare in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Compere received his MD degree from St. Matthew’s University, Grand Cayman, West Indies and his bachelor’s degree in biology from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, N.Y., He did his internship and residency at Capital Health Hospital in Trenton. N.J.

After completing medical school, Dr. Compere was an adjunct associate professor of chemistry at LaGuardia Community College in Long island city. He was involved in research projects at both Capital Health Hospital and at La Guardia Community College. Prior to medical school, he was a lab technician for Estee Lauder Companies in Melville, N.Y.

Dr. Compere has been volunteering in Haiti doing missionary work and providing basic healthcare since 2012. He is a founding member and current Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Haitian Professionals and a member of the American College of Physicians.

Mackendy Elmera, MBA, MSA

President of the Executive Management Team and Chief Financial Officer of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP)

Mr. Elmera is a senior International Issue Specialist at the U.S. Department of Treasury. Specialize in complex international tax issues such as transfer pricing, tax shelters, tax treaties, International mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations, tax planning and many other areas. Mr. Elmera often works with the senior levels of corporate tax departments and/or their representatives. As a senior International Issue specialist, his responsibilities include international aspects of field examination, which contain difficult and complex legal, financial, or valuation issues of major proportions. In addition, he applies expert knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, rulings, court decisions, and agency policies, regulation to determine the correct tax liability. Serve as a mentor to develop less experience Agents, monitor progress and conducting training.

Worked bilateral advance pricing agreements to ensure compliance of cross border transactions as well as inbound and outbound transfer of intangible assets as a result of acquisitions.

Previously, Mr. Elmera worked as a Tax Associate at PriceWaterHouseCoopers. His primary responsibilities were tax consulting, tax compliance, prepared provision for income taxes for fortune 500 companies and tax planning services for public companies and owners of private companies.

Mr. Elmera is a founding member of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP). He received his B.S. in Business Management with a minor in Philosophy from Kean University and later earned a dual master degree in Accountancy and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Saint Peter’s University.

Serge Renaud, MBA, MSA

Executive Vice-President and Member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP)

Mr. Renaud is a Senior Tax Specialist with the U.S. Department of Treasury. Prior to this position, he was a Corporate Tax Examiner dealing with various and complex tax issues in different business entities such as C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and other type of business entities with a wide range of assets.

Prior to joining the U.S. Treasury, he was employed with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. in their International Tax Services (ITS) as an International Tax Associate working on various international tax issues.

Mr. Renaud is a founding member of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), a founding member of the New Jersey Haitian Student Association (NJHSA), a Current Advisory Board Member of the Haitian Association of Indiana (HAI), and a former Board of Directors of the Haitian American Leadership Council (HALEC) – NJ Chapter.

Mr. Renaud graduated with a Master of Science in Accounting from Seton Hall University; an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
